The Erbium:YAG fractional laser is a high-precision resurfacing treatment designed to target fine lines, pigmentation, scars, and early signs of aging. By stimulating cellular turnover and boosting collagen and elastin production, this laser effectively removes damaged layers of skin and encourages healthy new tissue to form in its place.
This treatment is ideal for individuals seeking gentler resurfacing with a shorter recovery window than more aggressive ablative lasers. Whether you’re looking to smooth wrinkles, brighten tone, or fade sun damage, Erbium:YAG offers a safe, effective path to clearer, more youthful skin.
Reduces fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage
Improves skin tone, texture, and elasticity
Fades brown spots, blotchiness, and scarring
Stimulates collagen production for long-term skin renewal
Shorter downtime compared to CO2 laser resurfacing
Step 1: Skin Assessment & Prep
We’ll evaluate your skin to ensure Erbium:YAG is a good fit for your concerns. A topical numbing cream is applied prior to treatment to enhance comfort.
Step 2: Laser Application
The laser emits pulses that target water in the skin cells, vaporizing damaged outer layers while creating a controlled thermal injury in the dermis. This activates the body’s natural healing response and collagen remodeling.
Step 3: Regeneration & Recovery
Over the following week, old pigment cells shed and healthier, more elastic skin begins to emerge. Redness and mild peeling are expected during the healing process, with full results developing over several weeks.
Erbium:YAG resurfacing is ideal for:
Fine lines and early wrinkles
Uneven tone or photo-damaged skin
Pigmentation issues, including sun spots and age spots
Mild to moderate acne scars
Textural roughness
Skin laxity
Certain precancerous lesions (with medical clearance)
To ensure the best results:
Avoid sun exposure and tanning (including self-tanner) for 2–4 weeks before treatment
Discontinue topical exfoliants like retinol, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid at least 1 week prior
Numbing cream will be applied 30 minutes before your appointment
Expect 3–7 days of recovery, including redness, swelling, flaking, and mild peeling.
Post-care includes:
Apply ice initially to soothe heat and reduce swelling
Use Aquaphor for the first 24 hours to protect the skin barrier
Gently cleanse and moisturize with non-irritating products for one week
Avoid direct sun exposure; wear SPF 30+ daily
Resume regular skincare after 7 days, unless instructed otherwise
A full post-treatment handout will be provided with personalized instructions.
