Sculptra is a unique biostimulatory injectable treatment that helps restore volume and firmness to aging skin—not by filling lines directly, but by activating your body’s own natural collagen production. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, Sculptra works beneath the surface to improve skin structure and gradually replenish lost facial volume over time.
Formulated with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), Sculptra provides long-lasting improvement in skin thickness, contour, and definition. It’s an ideal option for those looking to subtly refresh their appearance with results that evolve naturally over several months.
Stimulates natural collagen production for long-term volume restoration
Improves skin firmness, texture, and elasticity from within
Treats hollow areas in the temples, cheeks, and lower face
Minimizes deep wrinkles, folds, and facial sagging
Results develop gradually and last up to 2+ years with a full series
Step 1: Consultation & Planning
Your provider will assess your facial structure and volume loss to determine the best injection sites and number of sessions. Sculptra is typically performed as a series of 2–4 treatments spaced several weeks apart.
Step 2: Injection Process
Sculptra is injected into the deeper layers of the skin, targeting areas with noticeable hollowing or sagging. Injections are quick and typically well-tolerated with topical numbing if needed.
Step 3: Collagen Activation
Over time, the PLLA microparticles in Sculptra stimulate your body to produce collagen, gradually restoring volume and improving skin firmness. You’ll notice results that emerge slowly and last longer than traditional fillers.
Sculptra is most commonly used to address:
Hollow temples
Sunken cheeks or midface volume loss
Jowling or laxity in the lower face
Chin wrinkles and marionette lines
Deep nasolabial folds and facial depressions
It is especially effective for patients experiencing age-related facial thinning or deflation, and is often part of a longer-term facial rejuvenation plan.
To minimize the risk of swelling or bruising:
Avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, and supplements such as fish oil, vitamin E, garlic, or ginseng for 5–7 days before your appointment
Stay hydrated and eat a light meal before treatment
If on any prescription blood thinners, consult with your physician prior to discontinuing
Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days (known as the “5x5x5 rule”) to ensure even product distribution
Use cold compresses as needed for the first 24–48 hours
Avoid intense heat (sun exposure, saunas, strenuous workouts) for 2–3 days
Do not apply skincare or makeup for at least 12 hours post-treatment
Use Tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain and antihistamines like Benadryl or Claritin to reduce swelling if necessary
Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning agents for 24 hours after injection
Sculptra is best suited for individuals experiencing moderate to significant facial volume loss or looking for long-term, subtle rejuvenation. Because it works gradually, it’s ideal for clients who want natural-looking results without the appearance of having “had work done.”
It is not typically used in highly mobile areas like lips or tear troughs and is not recommended for those who want immediate results. A full consultation will help determine if Sculptra is the right fit for your goals and facial anatomy.
